Take care of your eyes

- Wash eyes with cold water at regular intervals
- Eat a lot of foods that are rich in vitamins like papaya, egg, fish, milk and green leafy vegetables
- Increase your water intake
- Use slices of potato and cucumber for dark circles under eyes
- Wash eyes with amla water (Soak amla in water overnight and strain it in the morning)
- Blink rapidly or close eyes to relax the eye muscles
- Sometimes, splashing water mixed with salt helps in the treatment of eye infections
- A short nap helps, if your eyes are puffy
- Get regular eye-check-ups done
- Wear proper sunglasses that have 400 UB protection or more. When buying lenses, see to it that the lenses that absorb 99 to 100 per cent UV light, especially UV-B light
- Eat a lot of vitamin-rich foods since they prevent a host of problems. Vitamin A is good for reducing cataracts and night-blindness. Vitamin C helps reduce the pressure in glaucoma and slows down the effects of degeneration due to old age
