How to enable Hyperlink sound in Windows XP?

It was getting really irritating for me to not hear the click sound on clicking a Hyperlink or double-clicking a folder in Windows Explorer, or clicking Back/Up in the Windows Explorer. It's that very typical click sound I heard in Windows XP Professional Edition. Initially I thought this sound is not supported in Windows XP Home Edition, but then on some discovery, got it, and I am very happy about it...

Here are the steps to get it going:

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Open Sound and Audio Devices Properties
3. Click Sounds tab
4. Under Program Events, go to Windows Explorer group and select Start Navigation
5. Browse for Sound files (they are usually present under C:\Windows\Media
6. Select Windows XP Start.wav
7. Click Apply followed by OK
8. Enjoy!
